The foundation’s objectives are to investigate human rights violations and abuses, analyse and document governmental and non-governmental action that perpetuates or ignores human rights abuses and violations, and advocate for justice, peace, and collective action against grave human rights violations.
The foundation specifically focuses on misinformation, disinformation, hate speech, and online propaganda that lead to violations of core human rights to life, liberty and health around the world.
We are committed to sustainable development goals in particular SDG 16, 5, 10 and 11.
The foundation defines its vision, mission and values in line with the need to have a hate free world, where diversity and pluralism at all levels and across all sectors of societies are central. For all our work, we pay careful attention to diversity, solidarity, dignity, courage and respect for law and human rights.
The foundation was previously known as The London Story (TLS), after the London Brasserie in Brussels, where the idea for the foundation was born, we have roots across continents and cultures, and are working towards making a hate free world reality in our home and host countries.

Dr. Sengupta is a STEM academic and has been one of the co-founding members of DAHRD. At DAHRD she supervises and monitors the everyday functioning of the foundation.

Dr. Umair Ullah Khan is a doctor at NHS with roots in India. At DAHRD he supervises and monitors the everyday functioning of the foundation.

Dr. Safder is a doctor by profession and social justice activist in her personal capacity. At DAHRD she is responsible for creating advocacy and networking channels.
Mr. Rasheed Ahmed

Mr. Rasheed Ahmed is an American Muslim leader of Indian descent. He is the founder and president of the International Council of Indian Muslims (ICIM) and the Executive
Director of the Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC). While living in the US for over 40 years, he has been focused on community building, social justice and building bridges
among diverse communities

Ritumbra Manuvie
Co-Founder and Executive Director
Dr. Manuvie is an academic and a human rights defender. She is Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. In her role at DAHRD, she is responsible for providing vision and direction to DAHRD and achieving the research and advocacy goals of DAHRD.
Drs. M van Dorssen
Managing Director – Finance & Operations
M. van Dorssen is a psychologist who helps steer the foundation’s organizational matters. She is fluent in English and Dutch and helps with the treasury functions.

Shivam Maurya is a data scientist, who uses his tools for analyzing big data in order to draw together political and social trends and look behind the veil of majoritarianism.

Elena Tacchini
Advocacy Officer (NL)
Elena holds degrees in Political Science and International Relations from the Catholic University of Milan and a Master in International Relations and Conflicts from Leiden University. Her Master’s thesis examined the role of state officials in the 2002 Gujarat carnage, focusing on mass sexual violence. As Dutch Advocacy and Communication Officer, she supports work of the foundation to ensure that human rights and fair policies continue to be at the forefront of deepening relations with India.
Ulviyya Hasanova
Senior Advocacy Officer (Brussels)
Ulviya is responsible for managing the advocacy, communication, and human rights research efforts at DAHRD. She focuses on monitoring human rights compliance related to the conduct of both state and non-state actors, fostering strategic collaborations, and leading impactful campaigns across international platforms, including UN and EU institutions.
Filip Molnár
Senior Advocacy Officer (Brussels)
Filip studied Politics in Central Europe, after which he dived into the EU institutions. As a long-term Policy Officer at the European Parliament, he worked on numerous issues and pieces of legislation, including tech accountability and the AI Act. Afterwards, he moved into the nonprofit sector, where he worked on environmental rights.

Remuneration policy directors and employees
The remuneration for staff, consultants and volunteers of Stichting Diaspora in Action for Human Rights and Democracy is competitive within the NGO-sector salary scale. The hourly brutto remuneration of the Executive Director(s) of Stichting is 42 EUR (excl. BTW) since 1st January 2025 (remunerated pro rata). Remuneration scales are well beneath the maximum ceiling of 158.000 EUR within the framework of Goede Doelen Nederland (GDN)
